Flavio Cobolli defeated Alex de Minaur in three sets to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second year in a row. Paolini also advances. Jannik Sinner returns to action tomorrow: a spot in the semifinals is up for grabs.

Flavio Cobolli continues its run to Wimbledon and a victory of great depth against the No. 5 seed alex deminaur, exceeded in three sets (7-5,7-6,6-3) thanks to his ability to manage key moments and repeatedly overturn the inertia of the match. The Italian thus conquers the quarterfinals on the London grass for the second consecutive year and now awaits the winner between Grigor Dimitrov and Airthow Ferry for a place in the semifinals. Great day also for Jasmin Paolini, who beat Alex Eala at the end of a hard-fought match that was decided only in the third set.

In third set De Minaur attempted to reopen the match with an early break, but Cobolli quickly countered with a counterbreak and gradually took control. More solid on serve and more aggressive on return, the Italian found the decisive break late in the match, sealing a victory built on managing key moments and growing in important points.

Sinner vs. Struff: when he plays and at what time

Jan-Lennard Struff is the next opponent of Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals. The German, number 74 ATP, had a path on the London grass full of twists and turns: fifth-set victories against Baez and Nakashima, the elimination of Daniil Medvedev and the comeback against Hubert Hurkacz, forced to retire after being up by two sets. In previous matches against Jannik Sinner, the the score is 3-0 for the Italians, with successes in Indian Wells, Monte-Carlo and Halle (where the German snatched a set in the tie-break).
