On the day of the umpteenth meeting between the Government and the trade unions, Minister Giuliano Poletti illustrates, during the question time in the Chamber, the moves that the Executive intends to implement in the near future in terms of work and pensions. Important changes built on two pillars: structural reduction of contributions for young people in order to stimulate employment and corrections to the Ape Social to favor flexibility in leaving.
“We confirm the will to want intervene again in the field of youth employment, reducing the share of social security contributions which at the moment we hypothesize in a structural way of 50% for three years” This is the hypothesis feared today by Poletti. "We hope - continued the minister - to be in a position to make a reduction in social security contributions stable and permanent".
Despite the improvements attested by the data on unemployment and by those on the trend of the Italian economy, the need for concrete measures to combat youth unemployment still remains a priority." On this front - the minister explained to Montecitorio - as early as 2015, we introduced a reduction of the labor component on IRAP for permanent jobs, reducing one point of the tax wedge. But the employment problem does not only concern young people, but also the unemployed over fifty. Precisely in the context of the Services Conference, a technical evaluation will be carried out "on any critical issues, with respect to the possibility of giving stabilization to the instrument", concluded the minister.
