Enel recognizes all its employees the opportunity to take advantage of one day a year di regularly paid leave to carry out voluntary activities in collaboration with some important third sector organisations.

Target: contribute, through its people, to the growth of the community in a sustainable path in line with the principles of the UN 2030 agenda, and beyond. Volunteering also enables workers to cultivate their well-being, civic sense, and professional skills, such as working in a team, thus enriching their wealth of skills that can be used in the workplace.

The Group made this known today at the press conference to launch the Asvis Festival.

In 2023, almost a thousand Enel employees participated in approximately 95 corporate volunteering activities which took place, from North to South, in 19 Italian cities. A constantly growing trend: from 2019 to today, almost 2 thousand people have taken part in 188 overall initiatives for a total of 13.610 hours dedicated to solidarity and the good of the community.

I volunteer projects they include initiatives of a social nature, with programs aimed at promoting inclusion and protection of the environment, as well as initiatives aimed at combating school dropouts, through courses aimed at strengthening educational skills aimed at young students.

In detail, thanks to these activities they were delivered 6,1 tons of food to people in economic difficulty, while, as part of environmental volunteering activities, approximately 1,1 tons of waste were collected from Italian streets and coasts, of which 9.000 cigarette butts. Overall, a positive impact was generated on the lives of over 3.500 people.

Among the main ones non-profit associations those who made use of the collaboration of Enel volunteers include the Diocesan Caritas of Rome, Save The Children, the Arché Foundation, the Quartieri Tranquilli Association, Moige, the Albero della Vita Foundation and the Civil Protection, the Italian Red Cross, Legambiente, Elis.

Also for 2024 the Group plans to further enhance these initiatives. The program will grow by strengthening relevant volunteering, introducing circular economy projects in order to allow the reuse of many goods/products which will be given a new life, and finally by implementing initiatives aimed at protecting the national artistic and cultural heritage, an important driving force for the Italian economy.
