The first half of 2013 closed on a positive note for Parmalat, which recorded a net profit up 27,8% on the same period last year. Revenues showed an increase of 14% to 2,59 billion euros. The company also confirmed its guidance in 2013 with net sales up 3% and Ebitda up 5%.
Parmalat's Board of Directors has given the green light to the project for the incorporation of Carnini, Latte Sole and Parmalat Distribuzione Alimenti into Parmalat Spa. An operation which, as underlined in a note from the same company, "finds justification in the need for simplification of the Parmalat group in Italy in order to pursue greater management efficiency through more effective coordination of operational activities".
Parmalat, through its subsidiary Lactalis do Brasil, has acquired the Brazilian company Balkis, specialized in the sector of high-end typical cheeses, for approximately 24 million euros. This is what can be read in the company note, which specifies that the price may be adjusted on the basis of the accounting checks on the closing date.
