Every year in Italy about 53 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and about 800 live with the disease. Very high numbers that make the need to focus on prevention increasingly urgent, the only way to raise the recovery rates.

It is in this context that yes adds Frecciarosa, the initiative promoted by the FS Italiane group and by the IncontraDonna Onlus Association, with the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health and the participation of Farmindustria.

Frecciarosa is "a privileged space in which to receive medical information from volunteer specialists on correct lifestyles and to increase one's culture of prevention which is the most effective weapon for combating oncological diseases", explains the CEO of the FS Group, Gianfranco Battisti . “Also this year – he continues – people will have the option to use travel time to meet with medical specialists, receive advice and make free visits. An opportunity exploited in recent editions by thousands of women and men both on board Trenitalia trains and in stations”.

5 thousand visits and free consultations carried out in previous editions and for 2019 the aim is to disseminate the initiative in a widespread manner, allowing as many people as possible to participate in the initiative.

"Freccia Rosa 2019 - he has declared Adriana Bonifacino president of IncontraDonna Onlus – also this year brings some novelties, which are added to the "ultrasound scanners of Barbara", already used with great success last year, special portable instruments dedicated to a courageous woman, followed by the Association in her path " .

“Our aim – continues Bonifacino – is also and above all this: bring prevention closer to those who, for multiple reasons, avoid examinations that can be considered real life savers; provide correct information and tools to protect our health.

The initiative was supported and praised by the Minister of Health, ROberto Hope, which ensured "the commitment of the institutions in supporting prevention policies".

As part of the presentation of the initiative, the minister then spoke of the Government policies in view of the Def and above all of the Budget law: “Both the Economy Minister and I have been very clear: the season of cuts in healthcare is over. The money we put into the health of citizens - he reiterated - is an investment and not a simple expense. So I will fight to significantly increase the resources available for the National Health Fund compared to last year”.
