Charles Leclerc wins the British Grand PrixIt's his ninth victory in Formula 1, the first since October 2024. On the Silverstone track, in a dramatic race, which ended with all the drivers lined up behind the safety car following the accident in the final laps with Max Verstappen's Red Bull, Ferrari returns to success after Barcelona. Last June 14th, the triumph was Lewis Hamilton, who in the home Grand Prix, finished in third place, preceded by the Mercedes of George RussellHamilton is, however, under investigation for a yellow flag violation.
Unlucky World Championship leader Kimi Antonelli After winning the sprint race and taking pole position, he finished in sixteenth place. His Mercedes suffered suspension problems towards the end while he was fighting for the win. The Italian champion had actually finished ninth, but a five-second penalty dropped him further.
Despite the "slip" Antonelli remains at the top of the rankings with 181, followed by teammate Russell with 154. Third is Hamilton with 147. Today's victory allows Leclerc to move up to fourth position with 108 points, overtaking Lando Norris, fifth with 97 points.
“The season is still very long but the desire to do well and to continue fighting is huge, we can't wait to see what will happen in the next Grands Prix, and in the meantime we enjoy the moment”, commented Charles Leclerc immediately after the victory.
