Another record for i overnight deposits in the vaults of the European Central Bank. According to the figures published today by the Frankfurt institute on its website, the banks of the Eurozone have entrusted the ECB 452 billion euros between yesterday and today. L'last record, recorded just yesterday, was 411,81 billion.
These are numbers that once again testify to the distrust that circulates in the interbank market: credit institutions prefer in fact to resort to the counter of the European Central Bank (which guarantees very low rates, at 0,25%), rather than lending liquidity to each other at higher rates.
