Pixels beat celluloid. Overtaking is now around the corner: next year in the United States e-books will overtake traditional books. As for Europe, in 2015 one volume out of five will be digital.

This was announced by AT Kearney, who during the "IfBookThen" conference organized in Milan on March 19th presented in partnership with Bookrepublic the results of a research concerning digital publishing in general and its diffusion in the main world markets.

These estimates assign a market penetration of 10% to poorly digitized countries such as Italy, against an average of 20% for Europe and 59% for the United States.
