The board of directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, chaired by Giovanni Gorno Tempini, on the proposal of the CEO and general manager, Dario Scannapieco, has approved new operations for a total value of over 1,3 billion euros aimed at promoting the investments in key sectors for the country, like that of the infrastructure and mobility sectors planet, and to support thereal economy with alternative finance tools that promote theaccess to credit for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Interventions in favour of SMEs
The board approved initiatives capable of combining public and private resources to offer, also thanks to a significant leverage effect, new liquidity to smaller companies or those with greater difficulty in accessing credit, contributing to their growth and the diversification of supply sources. The aim is to stimulate the investments in circular economy and innovation through alternative finance programs, capable of generating positive impacts for industrial supply chains in the area.
Funding for the road network and public transport
On the infrastructure front, in detail, the board of directors has approved financing, also sustainability-linked, for projects aimed atmodernization andcomputerization of the road network and the construction of works functional to the strengthening of strategic logistical hubs for the transport of people and vehicles.
Specific resources will be directed to strengthening the fleet of electric public transport and interventions to provide high safety standards road and railway infrastructure with positive effects on trade and on the quality of life of citizens, also thanks to better traffic management.
