Calenda today Minister for Economic Development

Carlo Calenda today becomes the new Minister of Economic Development by being sworn in at the Quirinale in front of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi – He was nominated two months ago as the new Italian ambassador to the European Union in Brussels

Carlo Calenda today becomes the new Minister of Economic Development in place of Federica Guidi. During the day he will be sworn in at the Quirinale in front of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

Calenda comes from the business world and two months ago he was appointed ambassador in Brussels to the EU to promote Made in Italy in every possible way. This will be one of his priority commitments together with policies for industry and services, the development of ultra-broadband and that of renewable energies.

At the end of the month, the new minister Calenda will represent the government at the Confindustria assembly which will present its new president.
