Bocconi economist Tito Boeri is the new INPS president. He takes over from Commissioner Tiziano Treu, former Minister of Labour.
This was decided by the Christmas Council of Ministers which reserved a prominent place for public appointments together with the provisions on Ilva and the first implementing decrees of the Jobs Act, "A Copernican revolution", as Prime Minister Matteo Renzi defined it particularly satisfied for having made it in just 10 months. Criticisms of shyness have come from the centre-right ("But where were you before?" Renzi replied) and from the CGIL which has never shared the reform of the rules of the labor market despite the bad results of those until the day before yesterday in effect.
Another important appointment decided by the Government is that of Tullio Del Sette, new General Commander of the Carabinieri Corps.
