Fuel: Tamoil also announces a price cap, with average gasoline and diesel prices dropping.

Tamoil, with its 1.500 outlets, joins the ranks of distributors that have decided to apply a cap on fuel prices. The measure is in effect until October 31st.

A little while ago also Tamoil has joined the growing group of distributors who have announced the implementation of a cap on petrol and diesel prices which have risen dramatically due to the war in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Petrol and diesel: Tamoil's announcement 

Tamoil Italia, a company belonging to the international Oilinvest group, has decided to adopt "a series of measures aimed at mitigating the price of fuel sold at its network of branded distributors." This was stated in a statement. prices will be regulated until October 31st.

“Welcoming the appeals coming from the institutions and consumer associations – the note continues – Tamoil Italia intends to contribute concretely to supporting the mobility of citizens through the implementation of interventions aimed at fuel price containment".

The company manages over 1500 points of sale in Italy. With Tamoil's participation, therefore, the total number of distributors applying a price cap to fuel prices will exceed 12 thousand out of a total of almost 22 thousand plants scattered throughout Italy.

Fuel prices continue to fall

Meanwhile, thanks to company cuts, the average price continues to fall. The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, based on data provided by the Mimit Fuel Price Observatory, reported that today, Thursday, October 1st, the average price of self-service fuel along the national road network it dropped further, settling at 2,084 euros per litre for petrol and 2,285 euros per litre for diesel. 

Drops also on the highway network: the average self-service price is 2,122 euros per litre for petrol and 2,328 euros per litre for diesel.
