we receive e we publish the following press release issued by FS Italiane.
TX Logistik AG and the rental company Wascosa AG freight cars have signed a framework agreement to expand their future cooperation. The agreement mainly concerns the further development of existing cooperation in freight wagon rental sector and the one for the marketing of the NiRKASA handling system, which allows non-craneable trailers to be loaded onto the rails quickly and easily. An initial order is expected from Wascosa for 125 NiKRASA modules, worth approximately 3 million euros.
The agreement was signed at the terminal Quadrante Europe of Verona by Ugo Dibennardo, CEO of TX Logistik and Iris Hilb, CEO of Wascosa AG, In presence of Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics. The meeting was also the occasion for a demonstration of the NiKRASA system.
Both partners have been working together for many years and, with the new framework agreement, want to expand their presence in relevant markets based on mutual business relations. “In the current market situation, this partnership is a sign that we are looking to the future,” he says. Ugo Dibennardo, CEO of TX Logistik. “In addition to the rental of wagons and the marketing of NiKRASA, we also want to work closely on innovative transport solutions and drive them forward together and with other partners.” Wascosa is also the first partner with which TX Logistik has started cooperation on NiKRASA. The railway logistics company, which belongs to Mercitalia Logistics (FS Italiane Group), has designed the NiKRASA system from the beginning to be freely accessible to all market participants and would like to acquire other partners in the future. Ugo Dibennardo: “We want to contribute to the achieving climate goals and ensure that moving goods from road to rail is simple and possible for everyone interested".
The NiKRASA platform enables the movement of non-craneable semi-trailers, which currently constitute approximately 90% of truck fleets in Europe. These can be loaded from road to rail in just two minutes, with no changes to existing terminal standards, on the wagons or on the railway. In addition to classic semi-trailers, thanks to NiKRASA, silos and trailers with fixed bodies, mega-trailers and trailers without bodies and container chassis can also be loaded onto trains. If the chassis of NiKRASA cargo remains empty in the wagon, swap bodies and containers can still be loaded, without the systems interfering with each other.
The rental company Wascosa freight cars is convinced of the potential of this solution. “The NiKRASA solution fits perfectly with our market strategy to generate customer value in rail freight logistics and at the same time supports the transition to rail,” says Iris Hilb, CEO of Wascosa. “In the future, we will offer the handling system as a new standard service for the rental of our wagons, to facilitate the entry of freight forwarders into the world of combined transport”. There is clear interest in the market, as more and more freight forwarders in Europe are taking up the challenge of making their logistics chains greener and economic in the future.
A new partnership to support the strategy of Mercitalia towards sustainability: “the objective of the agreement aims to expand the scope of the new generation of our solutions throughout Europe sustainable logistics. The NiKRASA system, fundamental for the efficiency of terminals, together with the development of intermodal hubs represent a winning combination to promote the modal shift – he underlined Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics. – We are constantly committed to adopting cutting-edge technologies, such as automatic and digital wagon coupling, to significantly reduce environmental impact logistics operations, while ensuring high quality service.
In order to convince as many market participants as possible of the practical advantages of the NiKRASA system, TX Logistik intends organize other NiKRASA events in Europe together with Wascosa.
