Whirlpool: new investments and no redundancies in Carinaro in the new industrial plan

In the industrial plan presented today to the Ministry of Economic Development, the American multinational confirms the Carinaro plant where it will invest 8 million euros - "zero redundancy" plan for the plant in the province of Caserta

Radically change the Whirlpool business plan who today during a meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development with the trade unions presented the new project which envisages keeping the industrial site of Carinaro, in the province of Caserta, with a staff of 320 people out of the current 815, aiming to safeguard the other 495 for which various possibilities are envisaged. For the remaining 495 workers of Carinaro the plan of redundancy management it would be set up as follows: 200 could retire in the next few years, 150 workers could join the incentives for voluntary mobility. For the other 150, the focus should be on the incentivized transfer of 100 workers to Naples and 50 to Varese.

The other important change relates to Whirlpool's decision to bring the production of components for theEMEA area. In the Caserta area Whirlpool will invest 8 million euros. Furthermore, according to the declarations of Marco Bentivogli, general secretary of Fim Cisl, the multinational of household appliances has confirmed investments of 513 million which will add up to the 30 already started to adapt the systems. In addition, Whirlpool has explained in its industrial plan that it wants to bring back to Italy the production of 650 pieces from China, Turkey and Poland, aiming to make our country a center of excellence in the EMEA area.
