Unicredit-Sace: agreement to support companies that invest in sustainability

Sace and Unicredit have signed an agreement which aims to simplify the access of Italian companies to financing dedicated to sustainability and to support SMEs that intend to invest to reduce their environmental impact and counter the effects of climate change. 

As? “Sace's green guarantee covers loans disbursed by Unicredit, from a minimum of 50 thousand euros up to a maximum of 15 million euros and for a duration not exceeding 20 years, intended for the implementation in Italy of projects to mitigate and prevent climate change, reduce activities pollutants, protection of water and marine resources, protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems, sustainable mobility, circular economy”, explain Unicredit and Sace in a joint note.

The companies that receive the loans will benefit from Sace's 80% green guarantee, intended for companies with turnover up to 500 million euro.

“The agreement with Sace – he explains Niccolò Ubertalli, head of Unicredit Italia – is a further element in our wide range of financial solutions to support the green transformation of the Italian economic system and the energy transition of all SMEs in the country that have or want to develop a sustainability strategy. Thanks to the leverage of subsidized credit, we support specific and concrete investment projects of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim of helping them make the transition towards production models with a lower environmental impact”:

"The agreement with Unicredit - commented Pierfrancesco Latini, CEO of Sace – represents another step in the process, which we are taking together with the entire banking system, aimed at giving an important boost to Italy's ecological transition, also as a lever for Pnrr investments". 

"At the same time, together with Unicredit, Sale has already intervened on 1,3 billion in loans disbursed by the bank, in favor of large energy transition, green mobility and industrial conversion projects, on which we will continue to work in synergy", concluded the manager.
