An aperitif at the excavations of Paestum for a noble cause

The initiative which provides after the aperitif the free visit to the archaeological excavations of Paestum intended for visit programs for autistic children.

The aperitifs are back at the Paestum Museum, every Thursday from 18:00 to 19:30, in conjunction with the free entrance to the Archaeological Park. The novelty of this year concerns the proceeds that the Friends of Paestum association (info@amicidipaestum.org) – referent of the initiative – will be donated for a social purpose: visits for boys and girls with autism spectrum disorders.

For some time now the Park organizes visits to the museum deposits for people with special needs; the visit itineraries, called "A dip in the blue", are managed by the Cilento4All association which, with the "Federico II" and "Parthenope" universities of Naples, conducts research on how art can be an alternative communication tool and of cognitive therapy (info and reservations on special visits “A dip in the blue” – mail: specialmuseum@cilento4all.com tel. 3426327019).

"The fundraising organized by the Friends of Paestum will allow us to increase the offer for families with a son or daughter with special needs, without creating economic barriers - declares the director, Gabriel Zuchtriegel – At the same time, Thursday aperitifs will continue to be a moment of aggregation and discussion for the area, under the banner of a noble cause”.

The success of the fundraising is the result of teamwork which involves, alongside the Park and the Friends of Paestum, some wineries in the Campania region who will offer their agri-food products in support of the Park's accessibility projects. So far the companies have joined Ermma, Roll, Red Moon e San Salvatore 1988, but the aim is also to involve other companies by signing up for new memberships with the Amici di Paestum association.

“We are very happy to support a project with such a high social commitment – declares the president, Teresa Giuliani – The Amici di Paestum association has always been close to the Archaeological Park: all members participate with enthusiasm and great commitment to the realization of initiatives that we like to define as "alive", that is capable of creating something more positive. Just as it was for the restoration of the internal spaces of the Hera Garden museum with the creation of an olfactory path for the disabled, we are once again taking the field in favor of special people who, with the paths in the depots, will be able to feel the undisputed protagonists of the Paestum public " .
