Never say never with Elon Musk which retraced its steps and relaunched the purchase offer for Twitter in the same terms in which it had advanced and then withdrawn in the spring: 54,20 dollars per share for a total amount of 44 billion. Twitter is evaluating the proposal and wondering if this time it's a serious offer or if it's a smart move by Musk to avoid the court case that on October 17 it should lead him to the Delaware Chancery Court which must rule on his previous renunciation of the purchase. Meanwhile, the title flies on the stock market and yesterday a Wall Street Twitter rallied 22% like at the start of the story. However, time is running out and by tonight the judge wants a definitive answer from the parties on the feasibility of the offer. For now, Twitter only says it has received the new offer from the patron of Tesla and confirms that it is ready to close the deal at the original price but reserves the right to evaluate all the details of Musk's new proposal.
TWITTER: WHY MUSK HAD GIVE UP THE FIRST OFFER
In the spring, the founder of Tesla, who yesterday aroused the ire of Kiev for his phantom peace plan for theUkraine, which, however, would have had to give up Crimea, had decided to close his acrobatic purchase offer of Twitter claiming that he had discovered that many of the company's accounts were fake and, in response, had received a legal case from the social network. Twitter's accusation was that in reality Musk wanted to retrace his steps because the markets were in a downward phase and also the share value of the social network had lost ground making the price originally offered and now relaunched by Musk unsustainable. It is true that Wall Street has regained momentum in recent days, but is this enough to justify a $44 billion outlay for Twitter?
TWITTER AND THE DOUBTS ABOUT MUSK'S REAL INTENTIONS
This morning "la Repubblica" advances its doubts and writes: "One of two things: either Musk understood that he would lose the case (against Twitter) and therefore he has retraced his steps or he hopes to hinder it, with this offer from the last minute". The yellow continues but something more should be understood in the next few hours.
