The Council of Ministers has decided to exercise the Golden Power on the Telecom Italia network, to guarantee that investments and the correct functioning of the infrastructure will be safeguarded.
The exercise of the Golden Power takes place in application of article 2 of the decree law on special powers of 2012 in the field of telecommunications. In mid-October, the Government has already approved the exercise of the Golden power over Sparkle and Telsy, Tim's strategic subsidiaries for defense and security. In that case, article 1 of the decree law was applied.
The measures adopted today by the Government with the exercise of golden power on the Telecom network "are in line with Tim's strategy and with respect to them the company expresses its sharing and commitment - writes Tim in a note - confirming of the will to continue to have a frank and constructive dialogue with the Government and the Authorities of the sector which allows to combine the interests of the country with those of the free enterprise activity. The company will communicate on an annual basis the fulfillment of the requirements” provided for by the provision.
