Peru and Brazil, large producers of Panettone (many more than Italy) have been consuming them all year round for some time
One has been in place for some time now valorisation of Panettone as a dessert – but there is also a savory version – no longer limited to the consumption of the Christmas holidays but extended throughout the year. In Peru this has been the case for some time. In the Andean country the Panettone, imported by an Italian pastry chef who emigrated there, Pietro D'onofrio, originally from Sessa Aurunca, in the province of Caserta, is consumed for over 42 million items a year, spread over the entire twelve months (an average of 1,35 per inhabitant). And also in Brazil where 200 tons of panettone are produced every year, also exported to the United States and in 140 points of sale in 40 countries,Panettone is eaten from winter to summer and vice versa.
“It is a great honor for us to celebrate the summer panettone in one of the regions that has brought prestige and honor to Italian craftsmanship in Italy and in the world” declares Claudio Gatti, President of the association "many thanks to the work and commitment made by maestro Salvatore De Riso and the many academics who give international prestige to artisan panettone"
The event "The Panettone in Riva al Mare is an event that the city of Minori cares about very much" declares Sal De Riso, one of the promoters of the initiative, "on the occasion of the last edition we recorded a record turnout, which we count on repeat again this year, demonstrating that panettone is also very popular in summer and is also very popular in the South”.
The event enjoys the patronage of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Minori and the Gusta Minori event and is supported by companies of raw materials, equipment and accessories that have always worked to promote artisan excellence.
