Tari Rome 2016: how and when you pay

In addition to the political chaos around Ama and the difficult conditions of the Roman roads, where collection is inefficient, there is also the confusion prevailing on the Tari which complicates the situation of the Roman waste - Here is a brief guide to paying the tax.

Tari Rome 2016: how and when you pay

In the spotlight of Rome, for months now, there is waste. Not only for the political question - with the case of councilor Muraro, a former consultant of Ama, who is overwhelming the Raggi junta and even the leaders of the M5S -, but also because citizens strongly complain about the inconvenience caused by the inefficiency of the collection.

All this is intertwined with the confusion prevailing over the Tari, the waste tax, shrouded as always in a cloud of uncertainty, since each Municipality has the power to decide its own deadlines and payment methods. For this reason, after having already talked about Milan, let's take a look at the rules governing the payment of the 2016 Tari in Rome.

TARI 2016 ROME – HOW DO YOU PAY?

There are two installments: the first payment notice is sent by the Ama between May and June, while the second between October and November. The deadlines are not fixed: from when you receive the notice you have 30 days to pay the money. The payment of the fee - explains the Ama - can be made in various ways.

1. With the MAV bulletin attached to the fare payment document. In this case you can pay:

– online, by connecting to scrignopagofacile.it;

– without commission charge at branches and ATMs of the Banca Popolare di Sondrio, or at the branches of any other bank;

– with commission charge:
I) at post offices;
II) at Ama branches, but exclusively with debit cards or Visa and MasterCard credit cards;
III) at the authorized Sisal-Superenalotto and Lottomatica points of sale, using the barcode shown on the payment slip;
IV) by credit card on the Visa, MasterCard or PayPal circuit, by calling the single number 199.151.166 with no connection charge (from a landline network the rate is €0,0836 per minute, from the mobile network the rate in force applied by the individual operator).

2. Direct debit on the current account

To request direct debit from a current account, it is necessary to send the relative form to Ama through the institutional channels (mail, fax and counter). The signed SEPA Direct Debit Mandate is valid until revoked. The debtor can revoke the mandate at any time.

TARI 2016 ROME – INSTALLMENTS

In some cases, customers who have a direct debit on their current account will receive the payment in installments automatically:

– housing utilities: each six-monthly bill will be divided into 3 monthly installments for amounts equal to or greater than 150 euros;
– offices and companies: each six-monthly bill will be divided into 6 monthly installments for amounts equal to or greater than 300 euros.

The first installment will be charged on expiry of the bill, the subsequent installments every 30 days. For amounts lower than those indicated, installments are not applied and payment by direct debit is made in a single solution.

The Tari can be paid in installments even without direct debit to the current account, but only in the following cases.

Families: payment by installments is granted only for reasons of objective documentable economic difficulty, therefore the ISEE and a photocopy of an identity document must be attached to the request. Download the installment form. Only for fee payment documents relating to several semesters, with an amount exceeding 300 euros, the total amount is divided into 4 installments. Further payment by installments can be requested only if the amount of each single installment already issued is greater than 300 euros. However, it is possible to make the payment in a single solution at any bank and without charge of commission.

Offices and Companies: the installment is granted for budget deficit or other reasons that justify the state of temporary situation of objective difficulty. Download and send the installment form attaching a photocopy of a valid identity document. It is important to indicate a telephone number in order to be contacted.

TARI 2016 ROME – REDUCTIONS

The Tari provides for reductions in the presence of some specific conditions (in the case of a competition, the highest reduction is applied):

- Dumpster distance. It is possible to request a 50% reduction in the fixed rate if the first bin is more than a thousand meters away from the property. In the case of private roads or roads not open to public transit, the distance is calculated with reference to the access closest to the collection point. The reduction starts from the moment the request is presented. Customers requesting a reduction for the first time can present it at any time of the year, while in the event of renewal, the request must be presented by 31 January of each year. Download the form.

- Service interruption. In the event that the waste collection service is interrupted continuously for more than thirty days, a reduction equal to one twelfth of the variable portion of the tariff can be requested for each month of interruption. Download the form.

- Non-resident families. For properties available to customers in other Municipalities or in other properties within the territory of the Municipality of Rome, a 50% reduction in the variable portion of the tariff is envisaged. In the case of residence in another property within the territory of Rome, the rate is calculated on the number of members of the family unit as it appears in the Registry. If you reside outside the territory of Rome and do not communicate the number of members of the family unit living together, the number of occupants of the property will be calculated on the basis of 3 units (average of family members in the city of Rome). Download the form.

TARI 2016 ROME – WHAT TO DO IF YOU DON'T RECEIVE THE NOTICE?

If you have not received the fare payment document, you can pay directly at the branches of Banca Popolare di Sondrio indicated on the Ama website or at Ama branches, providing your name and tax code.

- Families: in the event of non-delivery or loss of the fare payment document, it is possible to pay directly in one of the 34 branches of Banca Popolare di Sondrio, where a payment receipt is issued.

- Offices and companies: in the event of non-delivery, customers receive a postcard indicating the location where to go to collect the fare payment document. The service is active 30 days after receipt of the postcard.
