There are just a few days left to present the question for the 'Single universal check. The deadline is the 30nd June, and respecting this deadline allows you to obtain the disbursement of the check starting from the following month, in addition to the backlog of March, April and May, as recalled by the Revenue Agency.
Single allowance: what is it, what are the ISEE bands and the amounts?
The single universal allowance – introduced by article 2 of law no. 46/2021 and made operational by Legislative Decree no. 230/2021 – is a Economic support for families with dependent children up to 21 years of age and without age limits for disabled children. It is "unique" because it replaces previous family support measures provided in the paycheck, and "universal" because it guarantees a minimum amount to all families with dependent children, even without ISEE.
The amount varies from a maximum of 175 euros for each minor child, in the case of an ISEE not exceeding 15 thousand euros, to a minimum of 50 euros for each minor child in the absence of an ISEE or with an ISEE equal to or greater than 40 thousand euros.
Why it is important to update the DSU
Families who benefit from the Single Allowance must update the Single replacement declaration (Dsu) by the end of June. This is necessary for obtain the ISEE certification, which allows the recalculation of amounts and the allocation of sums not received, including arrears starting from March.
To simplify the procedure, the pre-compiled declaration, which combines the data provided by the citizen with information from the INPS-Revenue Agency archives.
What happens from July 1st if the DSU is not updated
Therefore, submitting an updated DSU every year is compulsory to obtain a valid ISEE certificate. The ISEE must be presented annually by February 28, so as not to risk obtaining only the minimum amount of the check, equal to 57 euros. The June 30th deadline is one second chance for latecomers who wish to obtain the full amount and arrears. However, without an updated ISEE, from 1 July you will lose the right to arrears, and the single allowance will continue to be paid with the minimum amount until a new declaration is submitted.
How to present the DSU?
For update the ISEE to 2024 and obtain the arrears of the Single Allowance, it is necessary to send the DSU via:
- Inps site: by accessing the “Single and universal allowance for dependent children” service with Spid, electronic identity card (Cie) or National Services Card (Cns).
- Numero verde: by contacting INPS on 803164.
- INPS App: using the official INPS app.
- Patronages: with the support of patronage bodies.
Once the DSU has been completed, the ISEE certificate will be sent by the institute via the online service or to the local offices. The adjustment of the amount of the single allowance will be automatic starting from the month of presentation of the updated ISEE.

Every month, the first installment is paid in the last week of the month following the submission of the application, including any adjustments, both credit and debit.
