The integration of the technology developed by the startup Atacod into Siav's Document Intelligence platform aims to impress a significant acceleration in the automation of corporate document processesAccording to the results of projects already completed, the solution allows for a reduction in administrative task execution times by up to 95%, a reduction in data entry and verification errors by approximately 90%, and an 80% reduction in repetitive document management tasks.
The announcement comes just a few months after the strategic investment with which, in April 2026, Siav SpA Società Benefit has acquired 9,1% of the capital of Atacod through a million-euro operation, aimed at strengthening the group's skills in artificial intelligence applied to document processes.
The goal: to transform documents into usable data
The new integration represents an evolution of Siav's Document Intelligence platform, which aims to transform documents traditionally managed manually into structured information that can be immediately used by company management systems.
The solution intervenes throughout the entire administrative cycle, from the management of orders and commercial offers to transport documents, invoices and accounting reconciliation, automating activities that normally require significant personnel input administrative, logistics and purchasing offices.
Artificial intelligence at the service of administrative processes
At the heart of the platform is an artificial intelligence engine capable of ingesting documents from PDFs, emails, and Office files, automatically classifying them, understanding their content, and extracting relevant information. The data is then compared in real time with existing data from company ERP systems, allowing for information consistency checks before final registration. The system is also able to automatically correlate orders, transport documents, invoices and company records, reporting any discrepancies regarding quantities, prices, or delivery status. According to the company, this approach allows for moving beyond the traditional concept of document archiving, transforming each document into an active element of the administrative process.
Fewer repetitive tasks, more control
One of the solution's distinctive elements concerns the role of the human operator. Automation does not eliminate human control, but rather modifies their activities. Operators intervene only when validation, verification, or decision-making is required, while the system autonomously manages repetitive reading, data extraction, and document reconciliation tasks. In already developed application cases, this model allowed an 80% reduction in recurring manual activities, with benefits both in terms of operational speed and quality of the data that feeds ERP systems and administrative, logistical and accounting processes.
Integration with the Siav ecosystem
Atacod technology has been integrated into Siav.AI, the ecosystem of artificial intelligence capabilities developed by the company, and communicates directly with Archiflow, the proprietary Enterprise Content Management platform dedicated to document and business workflow management. The solution is available in both cloud and on-premises modes and is designed to adapt to organizations of any size, ensuring traceability, business continuity, and control throughout the entire document lifecycle.
Pinelli: "AI eliminates repetitive tasks."
“Artificial intelligence does not replace human work, but it eliminates repetitive tasks that slow down administrative processes,” he says. Roberto Pinelli, Product Strategy & Software Factory Director at Siav. "The technology we've integrated into our platform automatically reads and understands document content, extracts relevant information, compares it with data already present in management systems, and flags only any anomalies. This way, operators no longer have to manually enter data, but can focus on exceptions and higher-value decisions. This is the step that transforms document management into Document Intelligence."
