Ansaldo Energia has signed a contract with Pacifico Energy for the supply of eight AE64.3A gas turbines in 60 Hz configuration, together with the related generators, as part of a strategic project of power generation to support a major data center in TexasThe agreement represents a significant milestone for Ansaldo Energia, marking the company's return to the US market for new power generation plants after more than thirty years. First deliveries are expected in 2027.
The AE64.3A is the small-scale F-class gas turbine in the Ansaldo Energia portfolio, specifically designed for 60 Hz applications thanks to its dedicated gearbox and generator configuration. With over 70 units installed worldwide and more than 4 million equivalent operating hoursThe AE64.3A combines proven reliability, operational flexibility, and quick start-up capability. Its power range, fuel flexibility, and operational versatility make it particularly suited to the modular and redundant architectures typical of data centers, both in grid-connected configurations and in Behind-the-Meter applications for self-generation. The AE64.3A can also be used in cogeneration configurations, allowing customers to maximize efficiency while ensuring the high availability required by digital infrastructures.
