In the Public Administration, the average salaries between 2015 and 2019 grew almost double what happened in the private sector. This was reported by Il Sole 24 Ore on the basis of the latest Report on the salaries of public employees recently published by Aran and explaining that the leap in increases is due to the latest contract renewal.
In figures, the increase in average state salaries between 2015 and 2019 was 1,5% while in private companies it was 0,9% against a growth in consumer prices of 0,6%. In other words, wages in the public administration grew at a rate equal to 2,5 times inflation.
Between 2016 and 2018, the expenditure for contract renewals of state-owned companies amounted to 5,4 billion euros, while negotiations for the 2019-2021 contract should start in the coming weeks. it should cost 6,7 billion euros in addition to the funds (1,3 billion) specifically allocated for categories personally involved in the fight against the pandemic such as doctors and nurses
