After the go-ahead from Montecitorio, the provision passes to the Senate, which will have to approve it by July 20 - The (one-off) payment will take place on August 20, will be partial and will follow progressive criteria - The text also includes the refinancing of XNUMX million from the Cigs for ceased activity.

Reimbursement of pensions: from the first Chamber yes to the decree

The Chamber of Deputies approved the decree law on pensions with 310 votes in favor and 164 against. The text now goes to second reading in the Senate, where it must be converted by July 20, under penalty of forfeiture.

This is the provision with which the Government implements the ruling of the Consulta which rejected the indexation block imposed by the Monti government on checks exceeding three times the INPS minimum (a provision included in the Salva Italia decree of the end of 2011 and approved in Parliament by an arc of forces that went from the Pd to Forza Italia passing through the League).

The Renzi government has decided to give back to pensioners only part of the non-indexingfollowing a progressive criterion. The one-off payment for the repayment of arrears up to 2014 will be paid on XNUMX August and with separate taxation.

The impact on the 2015 budget amounts to approximately 2,2 billion and is covered by increasing net borrowing from 2,5% of the GDP trend to 2,6% planned. Literally respecting the ruling of the Consulta would have cost 17,6 billion.

Despite the initial controversies, in the House the decree passed without a hitch in commission and in the Chamber. The only approved change concerns the refinancing for 20 million of the Cigs due to ceased activity. The social shock absorber is also extended to a number of companies that would not be able to use it for the second year.
