The resources that will arrive this year and the next from the fight against tax evasion will be used from 2014 to implement measures in favor of the weakest groups, especially in terms of deductions for dependent family members.

Tax reform: since 2014 fight against tax evasion for family relief

Starting from 2014, the resources that will arrive in 2012 and 2013 from the fight against tax evasion will be allocated to measures, including non-structural ones, in favor of the weakest groups, with particular reference toincrease in tax deductions for dependent family members. This is what is foreseen in article 15 of the draft of the bill for tax simplifications which will be examined in the pre-Council of Ministers scheduled for today. The green light should come from the CDM on Friday.

"The increased revenue deriving in the years 2012 and 2013 from the provisions referred to in this decree - reads the draft - on the matter of combating tax evasion, strengthening the collection and review of sanctions, ascertained, on the basis of the results achieved, with a specific report of the Minister of the Economy and Finance to be presented to Parliament by the month of February of the following year, are reassigned in compliance with the public finance objectives" to a Fund "to be allocated, by decree of the President of the Council of Ministers in concert with the Minister of Economy and Finance, to measures, including non-structural ones, to support the income of individuals belonging to the lowest income brackets, with particular reference to the increase in tax deductions for dependent family members”.
