Il Guido Carli Prize XIII Edition was awarded to Luigi Ferrarsi, managing director of the FS Group, and to 12 other Italian excellences from the world of business, culture, entertainment and sport. The award is a "recognition for those who have distinguished themselves in social and managerial commitment, as well as for having promoted Italian talent and genius in the world".

The prize was awarded to the CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato Luigi Ferraris by a jury made up of top managers, entrepreneurs and publishers, with the honorary presidency of Gianni Letta. The initiative bears the name of the former governor of Bank of Italy and former minister of the Treasury, a forerunner and staunch supporter of the European project, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Treaty of Maastricht, of which Guido Carli was a signatory for Italy.

“I am honored to receive this prestigious award in a very important year for Europe. We are in a delicate historical phase, and never before have we had such a strong commitment to connecting people quickly and efficiently, with infrastructures that allow us to move not only in our country, but also in Europe", he said Luigi Ferraris. “I cannot help but think of the people who work at Ferrovie, in whom I have found great humanity and a spirit of service, which fully manifested itself during the pandemic crisis with great passion and dedication. Despite the tragedies we are experiencing, I feel optimistic about entering a new phase of rebirth, and I feel it is my duty to renew my thanks to those who work in this great Group".

Luigi Ferraris was awarded together with 12 other personalities. Marinella Soldi president of Rai, spoke of his international experience and the desire to make Rai a reality of excellence. The general Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, former Extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid emergency, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Urbano Cairo, President of Cairo Communication and RCS. Claudio Descalzi, director of Eni, presented the High Diplomacy Award to mariangela zappia, Ambassador of Italy to the USA. Giampiero Massolo, President of ISPI, presented the award to Ruth Dureghello, first female president in the history of the Jewish community of Rome. Monica Maggioni, director of Tg1, gave the award Federica Pellegrini, Olympic champion, one of the greatest athletes in Italian sport. The stylist Alberta Ferretti was awarded by Ornella Barra, COO International Walgreens Boots Alliance. The journalist Barbara Palombelli presented the prize to Francis Giambrone, superintendent of the Rome Opera House. Antonio Patuelli, President Abi, awarded Francesco Rocca, National President of the Red Cross. Giovanna Melandri, President of the MAXXI Foundation, he received the award from Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel. An acknowledgment also went to Francesco Mutti, who leads the homonymous Emilian company.

As for the entertainment world, Giovanni Malagò, President of Coni, awarded the prize to Tony Servillo, star of Italian cinema and Fedele Confalonieri, President of Mediaset, presented the award to Gerry Scotti, one of the best known Italian conductors. Professor Mauro Ferrari also spoke during the ceremony “The root of the meaning of life is nourished by the transformation of our pain into good things for those who need us. The memory of Massimo Dell 'Omo, and the pain for his passing - he added - are a celebration of his life and an affirmation of the values ​​he taught with his example, in his personal and professional life”.

Among the reasons that awarded the prize to the CEO of the FS Group Luigi Ferraris, delivered by Aldo Bisio, the fact of having achieved a sequence of prestigious assignments that has few equals on the national scene, for a "talent that now knows no bounds".

The beginning of the event's work, which this year was held in memory of the journalist Massimo Dell'Omo, was preceded by a message from Prime Minister Mario Draghi and a greeting from Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. This edition will be opened by the Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta. On the red carpet at the Rome Auditorium not only protagonists of the Italian economy and political and institutional life, but also talents from the world of cinema, sport, diplomacy and art, in a phase that requires a high and broad gaze specter in memory of Guido Carli.
