More than half of the iPhone components speak Japanese

More than half of the components used in the iPhone5 were made by Japanese companies. According to a recent report by Fomalhaut Techno Solutions, a research company specializing in the analysis of consumer electronics products, which has disassembled the 'toy' and viewed its thousand and one components under a microscope, Japan remains at the forefront of manufacturing of telecommunications products, even if it hasn't dominated the must-have gadget market for a long time.

Minatake Kashio of Fomalhaut Techno Solutions identified the manufacturer based on the shape and marking of the individual piece or conversations with knowledgeable sources. In his report he reveals that the iPhone 5 has 5% more components than its predecessor. Murata Manufacturing Co. supplied the largest number, including more than 400 capacitors, one of which is state-of-the-art, capable of accommodating 100 ceramic films inside a 0,2mm container. The iPhone 5 also contains the world's smallest transistors and coils, manufactured by TDK and Rohm specifically for the iPhone 5. The liquid crystal display was also manufactured in Japan by Japan Display.
