Piombino to Cevital, agreement signed

Signed the agreement for the sale of the former Lucchini site in Piombino to the Algerian company Cevital. The agreement was signed today at Palazzo Chigi in the presence of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who presented the agreement as positive for investors: "Piombino - he said - is a piece of Italy's future". 

The Premier said he was satisfied and thanked the trade unions for the work done to resolve the dispute in the iron and steel pole. On Twitter, Renzi then wrote: “Agreement for Piombino signed at Palazzo Chigi. Ambitious project that relaunches growth and work. After Terni another good news”. 

The president of Cevital, Issaad Rebrab, confirmed the good expectations for the development of the site: “We have a great project for Piombino – he said – not only for the iron and steel sector but for the creation of a logistics platform throughout the Mediterranean. Not only will we maintain the current level of employment, but we will increase jobs”.
