BBBell, Size, Tiscali, Vodafone e WINDTRE are the first operators to offer ultra-fast fiber services in Asti on the Open Fiber network. In the Piedmontese city, announces the fiber company controlled by Cdp and Enel at 50% each, the FTTH (Fiber to the home) connection of around 4.500 homes has been completed.
The districts between Corso Volta, Piazza Campo del Palio and the railway station will therefore be able to count on a connection speed of up to 1 Gigabit per second. The company led by Elisabetta Ripa has completed the cabling of a part of the city and it is here that operators who have already signed collaboration agreements with Open Fiber can be contacted. "This is only the first milestone of a much larger project - specifies the company - which provides for a direct investment by Open Fiber equal to 10 million euro, and the link of 27 thousand real estate units through an all-fiber infrastructure of approx 150 kilometers".
Finally, it should be remembered that Open Fiber, engaged in the construction of the fiber optic network on a national scale, is an operator wholesale only. In concrete terms, it means that it does not offer telephony or connection services but that it resells access to its own network to interested operators - such as the five already mentioned -, leaving each one free to propose its commercial offer to end customers. New partners are expected in the coming months.
