“We will not leave the young alone. We will work and do everything to ensure that they are able to have the opportunities that other young people in other parts of Europe have today. Thanks to Europe and a better Italy we will give young people this opportunity”. Prime Minister Enrico Letta arrives at the Rimini Meeting which begins the series of illustrious guests with his speech, dedicated to young people, to work, even to one of the hottest topics on the political agenda: electoral reform.

"Now the most urgent change is the electoral law: in October the Chamber will have to approve the reform to allow citizens to return to arbitration". Not only that, according to Letta we also need other "reforms that allow for turnover, such as the one on the abolition of public funding for parties". During his speech, the Prime Minister also mentioned the issue of "payment of public administration arrears", a topic "which will be tackled more forcefully in the autumn", among the measures to be tackled upon his return. The prime minister also addressed the tax issue, declaring that "taxes will have to go down in the right way in which they can be done".
