The growth of the Italian economy is still holding back. To say it is theIstat which has not yet quantified the negative effects of Brexit: "In the absence of a quantification of the possible economic effects of the outcome of the referendum on UK, the leading composite indicator of the Italian economy showed a further deceleration, continuing the trend underway since the beginning of the year”.
Positive signs, according to Istat, are those recorded in construction and businesses, as well as in employment, which results in a moderate increase. The less favorable signals, on the other hand, “come from consumption, the confidence climate of households and service businesses".
Already in the month of May, the institute of statistics had revised downwards its estimates on GDP of 2016: +1,1% against +1,4% in the previous estimate and against +1,2% which represents the growth target set by the Government.
