Many new stars in the Michelin firmament especially of young chefs, a new Three Stars and the loss of a star by some well-known names in Italian catering including Antonello Colonna in Rome e Ilario Vinciguerra in Gallarate, while Carlo Cracco he does not regain the star he lost last year and remains at one.

These are the main novelties of the new one Michelin Guide 2019 which brings to 10 the number of restaurants in Italy that can boast the Three Stars with the addition of Mauro Uliassi, patron of the homonymous restaurant in Senigallia. With him, Italy becomes the second most starred nation in the world (also with 8 percent of all the world's Three Stars).

THE64 edition of the Michelin Guide, previewed today in Parma and which will be on sale from Monday, contains a total of 367 starred restaurants of which 10 with three stars, 39 with two stars, and 318 with one star (29 new). Together with the new entry Uliassi, who has brought the culinary tradition of the Marche region to the highest levels combined with his very personal inspiration, the restaurants of the 64 edition have been confirmed in the Gotha of the 2018th edition of the Guide: Piazza Duomo in Alba (CN), Da Vittorio in Brusaporto (BG), St. Hubertus in San Cassiano (BZ), Le Calandre in Rubano (PD), Dal Pescatore in Canneto Sull'Oglio (MN), Osteria Francescana in Modena, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, La Pergola in Rome, Reale in Castel di Sangro (AQ). Among the 30 starred novelties included in the Guide, the two bistros of Antonino Cannavacciuolo in Novara and Turin stand out, with the young chefs Vincenzo Manicone and Nicola Somma. In Taormina, the new St. George by Henz Beck also gets a star.

Among the new entries in the Michelin firmament, the figure relating to young chefs is significant: 15 restaurants are run by young talents aged 35 or younger. Of these, 10 are aged 30 or younger. The historic restaurant in Verona '12 Apostoli', whose tradition dates back to the 1700s, also conquered a star. Carlo Cracco, with his restaurant in the Galleria in Milan, is also among the single-starred restaurants, while Antonello Colonna in Rome remains without a star, but he keeps it in Labico. Among those who lose a star also Stazione di Posta and Magnolia in Rome and Armani in Milan.

La Lombardia it is the region with the most stars, with 2 new features: 60 restaurants (2 three-star 6 two-star 52 one-star). Piedmont, with 5 novelties, regains the second position, with 45 restaurants (1 three-star, 4 two-star, 40 one-star), while Campania, with two novelties, ranks third on the podium, with 43 restaurants, ( 6 two stars 37 one star). Followed by Veneto, at 39, with two novelties (1 three-star, 3 two-star 34 one-star), and Tuscany, with 3 novelties, for a total of 36 restaurants (1 three-star 4 two-star 30 three stars). Change at the top among the provinces: Naples conquers the top with 24 restaurants (6 two stars 18 one stars), Rome moves into second position with 23 starred restaurants (1 three stars, 2 two stars, 20 one stars), while Bolzano regains third place (1 with three stars, 5 with two stars, 15 with one star). Milan follows, with 18 restaurants (4 two-star, 14 one-star), and Cuneo, with 17 (1 three-star, 1 two-star, 15 one-star).

Next year the 65th edition of the Michelin Guide will be held in the autumn in Piacenza and, again in 2019 but in the spring, a new editorial product Michelin. In 2020, however, a major European event will be held in Parma.
