Sharp drop in the gas bill for families still in protection.
Arera – the Authority for energy, water and waste – communicated that the cost of methane for households and small businesses fell by 34,2 % compared to December.
The lowering of the bill is due to milder temperatures of the period, to one less question by industry and ai savings of families who have turned down the radiators.
In January gas price at 68,37 €/MWh
For the month of January, which recorded a significantly lower average wholesale price than in December, the price of gas raw material (CMEMm), for customers with contracts in protected conditions, is equal to € 68,37 / MWh.
La reduction for the month of January, in terms of final effects, yet it doesn't quite compensate the highs levels price achieved in the last year. Gas expenditure for the typical household in the 12 months from February 2022 to January 2023 is approximately 1.769 €, a significant increase of +36% compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (February 2021- January 2022).
In the first quarter of 2023, Arera zeroed the general system charges for gas, as required by the “2023 Budget Law”. The negative UG2 component for gas consumption up to 5.000 sm5/year and the XNUMX% VAT reduction on gas were also confirmed.
