Italian State Railways supports a new competition of ideas called “Future regeneration. Your projects for the territory” pointing to generate value in Calabria and Sicily actively involving the realities of the Third sector operating in these regions. The initiative is promoted byCitizen Association, in collaboration with the crowdfunding and social innovation platform Productions from below.
Stimulate processes of innovation and sustainability
The contest aims to support innovative, long-lasting and sustainable projects promoted by local communities in the tourist and cultural fields. The main goal is stimulate innovation processes in these sectors in order to revive the territories by responding to the needs of the communities. The idea is enhance the artistic and cultural heritage of the regions involved, promoting social inclusion, cultural participation of disadvantaged people and accessibility to cultural heritage also for fragile people, with disabilities or reduced mobility.

In fact, the project involves the world of the Third Sector, with which Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane has maintained important collaborations for years, aims to generate value in southern Italy, where the FS Group's energies and significant investments are concentrated to build new infrastructures and, lastly, places at the center is innovation, tourism and social sustainability, with particular attention to the inclusion and enhancement of our artistic and cultural heritage, all areas in which both the Parent Company FS and all our Poles are strongly committed" he commented the launch of the Competition on Chief Communications Officer of Italian State Railways, Luca Torchia.
How to participate in the project RiGenerazione Futuro
Third sector organizations interested in participating will be able to present their project proposals in thededicated area on the Produzioni dal Basso platform. A jury composed of experts will evaluate the proposals and will select six deserving projects, including three for the Calabria Region and three for the Sicily Region who will be able to access crowdfunding campaigns. These will make it possible to identify the projects which, having raised at least 40% of the financial resources necessary for their implementation through donations, will be able benefit from co-financing (equal to 60% of the budget) by the sponsor Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, which will make available a total contribution of 36.000 thousand euros.
“The initiative riGenerazione Futuro is a virtuous example how the partnership between our Association and a large impact-oriented entrepreneurial reality, such as Ferrovie dello Stato, can translate into a concrete opportunity to create shared value on an economic, social and cultural level for the benefit of the territories and communities of the South ” commented the Secretary General of the Civita Association, Simonetta Giordani.
