The richest man in the world is still Bill Gates. For the sixteenth time in the last 21 years, the founder of Microsoft leads the ranking of the Scrooge of the World compiled by Fornes, with assets of 79,2 billion dollars. Mexican entrepreneur Carlo Slim remains in second place, with a fortune of $77,1 billion. Tycoon Warren Buffett closes the podium, whose wealth would amount to 72,7 billion dollars.
As for the Italians, however, the first name in the standings is that of Maria Franca Fissolo, widow of Michele Ferrero, who ranks 32nd, eight positions higher than the patron of Luxottica, Leonardo Del Vecchio, 40th. The only other Italian in the top 100 is Stefano Pessina, founder of Alliance Boots, a giant in the health sector, who conquers the 99th position in the standings.
The other Italian billionaires are Massimiliana Landini Aleotti, at the head of the pharmaceutical company Menarini (121st place), the designer Giorgio Armani, (174th), the former premier Silvio Berlusconi (179th). Followed, out of the first two hundred, by Augusto and Giorgio Perfetti, Paolo and Gianfelice Mario Rocca, Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada.
Compared to 2014, the number of billionaires in the world has increased by 290 units. Among the new entries, the name of the former American basketball player Michel Jordan stands out. Twenty-three new billionaires are from California. Among the under 40s Mark Zuckerberg still dominates, having risen to 16th place in the standings.
