Fininvest announces that it has increased its share in by 2,9%. Arnoldo Mondadori Publisher, bringing it to 53,299% from the 50,399% it held as of December 31, 2016. The purchases, equal to 7.582.292 ordinary shares, began on January 2 and ended yesterday.
“Fininvest's decision – reads a note – is linked to the positive performance of the Mondadori Group and to the strong conviction in its development prospects, assessments that are also supported by the ever-increasing visibility recognized by the stock market for the Mondadori share both in terms of exchanges and valorisation, in particular starting from the entry into the Star segment which took place in the first days of December”.
The Mondadori group, unlike Mediaset, is firmly controlled by the Berlusconi family and could not be subject to a takeover as happened to Mediaset with Vivnedi, which in recent months has raked in 29% of the capital.
Mid morning the Mondadori title gains 1,8% in Piazza Affari, in contrast with the Ftse Mib, which in the same minutes travels in the red by 0,5%.
