Euromobil, an industrial history linked to art

«From an early age we began to frequent the ateliers of artists in our area, then continuing on the path that led us to the sponsorship of major events in Italy and abroad in prestigious venues such as the Correr Museum in Venice, the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome , the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia, the Louvre in Paris…and many others”

Euromobil, an industrial history linked to art

If we consider the history of the near past, of the last quarter of a century, extraordinary transformations that have changed the way of living, producing and thinking, in Italy as throughout the world, leap to the eye. Euromobil has grown in this rapidly and continuously changing scenario, developing gradually, revealing the ability to predict changes and achieve the set objectives.

From the Lucchetta Luigi e Figli furniture factory, founded in 1960, in Pieve di Soligo, in the heart of the Marca Trevigiana, then developed in 1972, Euromobil was born in Falzè di Piave, which produces kitchens and in 1974 Zalf, specialist in the furniture and home accessories sector , office and contract, based in Maser in the province of Treviso.

The turning point in 1986. The four brothers, Antonio, Fiorenzo, Gaspare and Giancarlo radically transform the companies, the structure is expanded and with the introduction of new cutting-edge technologies, automated production. In 1995, the Lucchettas took over Désirée, an upholstered furniture company based in Tezze di Piave, also in the Treviso area. This is how the Euromobil Group was formed, which today with a total area of 175.000 square meters of which 70.000 are covered and 300 employees sells its furniture in 800 sales outlets in Europe, India, China, the United States, Japan, Russia and Korea.

So far the industrial history. Which, however, in the Lucchetta house is closely linked to art, because Gaspare, Antonio, Giancarlo and Fiorenzo are passionate about it: «From an early age we began to frequent the ateliers of artists in our area, then continuing along the path that led us to the sponsorship of major events in Italy and abroad in prestigious venues such as the Correr Museum in Venice, the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia, the Louvre in Paris, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Guggenheim in Bilbao and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art».

Over the last 30 years the Euromobil Group has linked its brand to over 400 exhibitions in Italy and around the world. But not only for sponsorships: «Integrating art with industry makes the way of being a company different and makes all the people who are connected to it grow culturally». Thus was born the partnership as main sponsor of Arte Fiera ArtFirst in Bologna, one of the most important modern and contemporary art fairs in Europe, the international award "Euromobil Under 30 Group", assigned to a young artist, present at the fair and the dozens of artists supported with a role as patrons of the XNUMXs.

So we asked Gaspare Lucchetta a few questions…

Firstonline: Yours is an important industrial history, what weight did your passion for art have?

The origins of the business date back to 1972 with the birth of Euromobil cucine followed by Zalf mobili in 1974 and Désirée sofas in 1995. The three companies form the Euromobil Group which represents a happy marriage between technology and art, a blend that has made the product design a distinctive trait, a real trademark. The intuition that underlies this company choice, simple even if not easy to make, has allowed the group to compete on the international market under the aegis of creativity and pure artistic message. Our relationship with the art world stems from a passion that began when we were young and continued over time with the support of exhibitions of great masters of the past and contemporary art. Contact with art and frequenting artists has allowed us to grow culturally and to open our minds. To date we have contributed to the creation of over 400 exhibitions in major museums around the world.

Firstonline: We know that you are considered real patrons, what do you think?

We began to collect works by artists linked to our territory, then over time we broadened our vision and came into contact with national and international authors. Passion has always been our driving force and we believe we have contributed significantly to the dissemination and appreciation of art, orienting our choices on the basis of the qualities and expressive values of the various artists, known and less known to the general public.

Firstonline: In your opinion, how successful is it for a company to invest in art?

Our company's commitment to the art world dates back to about 40 years ago and over time it has become increasingly fundamental. Integrating art with industry makes the way of being a company different and makes all the people connected to it grow culturally.

When is it important to invest in young people?

We believe it is important as well as socially useful to give space to new creative energies. Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity drive us towards the search for new talents who will become the reference points of tomorrow. Since 2007 we have established the "Euromobil Under 30 Group Prize" dedicated to young artists present at Arte Fiera Bologna, specifically designed for those who will trace the new coordinates of contemporary art.

Firstonline: For years Euromobil has supported the most important Italian art fair, do you consider it a satisfaction?

For the seventh time we sponsor Arte Fiera Bologna, continuing with unchanged interest and enthusiasm to combine our brand with those of the broader human creativity. These interests are linked to our way of thinking about the company, and this is why we willingly contribute to the success of one of the most important trade fairs in the world.

Firstonline: Have you ever thought about setting up your own Foundation?

For the future, our dream is to create a Foundation of Contemporary Art. We already have an impressive industrial archeology site, one of the most important in the Veneto region. We are working on it, but for now it is still a dream …..

Firstonline: Would you like to give some advice to a young entrepreneur who is approaching art and would like to make it a strong point?

Above all, a company must have a distinctive project based on true values, based on ethics and consistency. It must be agile and dynamic, carry out research and constantly look at innovation and new technologies. The entrepreneur must have forward-looking objectives and be able to create a motivated and cohesive group of collaborators to achieve them. Art has always been a great stimulus and suggestion for the business world and communication in general. We have always looked to this world with the aim of creating a high-profile cultural project.

Firstonline: I'll leave the last consideration to you…

It is undeniable that if the company can be good for art vice versa, art is good for the company because it generates the "corporate identity". In a complex and difficult economy like the current one, we need to have a clear global vision and aim to be excellent and unique.
