Two cents for each text message to finance civil protection

Two cents tax for each text message sent from a mobile phone or computer. It is the measure contained in the decree law on the reorganization and financing of the Civil Protection. The operators will pay, but the suspicion is that the measure will soon fall into the pockets of users in terms of tariff increases.

Two cents for each text message to finance civil protection

Two cents per message to finance Civil Protection. A new tax contained in the decree law on the reorganization and financing of the national body chaired by Franco Gabrielli. The text message tax is one of the forms of financing envisaged. A tax that will not fall, at least in the government's intentions, on the user. For each text message sent, the telephone operators will pay two euro cents to the state.

To finance the fund destined for the reorganization operation, the Government has  decided to draw on the increases in excise duties on petrol, ie five cents per liter of regional excise duty and up to five cents per liter of state excise duty, and the two cents taken precisely from the tax on text messages.
