Tito Boeri is not going to end up under accusation for his estimates of the 8 jobs that the Dignity Decree risks screwing up due to the tightening on contracts and counterattacks by openly saying that the Deputy Prime Minister and Labor Minister, Luigi Di Maio "is out of reality". Yesterday Boeri was a flood in the hearing of the Finance and Labor Commissions of the Chamber and unleashed the wrath of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte who said he was "strongly irritated" by the "unacceptable and inappropriate" words of the INPS president . The reactions of the vice-premiers Matteo Salvini and Luigi Di Maio are also harsh.
But what did Boeri say to unleash hell? First of all he declared - denying Di Maio - that the INPS document with the estimates on the loss of 8 jobs had been sent in early July, that is, before the Dignity Decree was born, and that it was enough to at least browse through it to understand the contents.
Then he argued that the estimate of 8 fewer seats is even optimistic and that the places at risk could be many more and even reach 140. “To affirm that the technical reports – Boeri added – express a political judgment means losing more and more contact with the earth's crust and placing oneself in orbits far from the planet: it is a very dangerous exercise because sooner or later one has to explain to citizens what are the real-world constraints.
Immediate critical reactions not only from Conte but also from Salvini and Di Maio but Boeri does not give up and has no intention of resigning: "I do not take into consideration - he said to Salvini - the requests for resignation online and the threats from who should preside over my personal safety. The Executive that nominated me has never asked me to swear allegiance to its programme: I ask the same respect for this Executive”.
