Japan's trade deficit is growing: +10% in January on an annual basis, reaching 1.629,4 billion yen (13 billion euros), the worst result recorded in January for over 30 years. This is what was announced by the Ministry of Finance.
Imports, on the other hand, rose by 7,3%, driven by the rise in the energy bill two years after the Fukushima nuclear accident (the 34,6% jump in telephone imports thanks to smartphones should be noted). Exports grew by 6,4% (recording the first progress in 8 months) taking advantage of the improvement in the situation in Asia and the United States.
