Covid-19, Enel protects its 68.000 employees

Enel takes the field against the coronavirus: after announcing that i financial targets of 2020 will not change one iota despite the emergency, the group led by Francesco Starace has taken out an insurance policy covering more than 68.000 employees worldwide, in case of hospitalization from the COVID-19 virus. The product, which has been structured specifically for the needs of the Enel Group, represents the first ever insurance intervention in the world aimed at provide global assistance compared to the current pandemic phenomenon.

Through the policy, Enel will therefore guarantee a cash allowance to all its employees scattered around the globe (especially in Italy, Spain and South America) who should be hospitalized due to the contraction of the virus or subjected to intensive care. The tool is to an indemnity in addition to all other policies and forms of healthcare already available to Enel employees.

This tool, developed in collaboration with the leading company in the insurance and risk management services sector Aon SpA, was immediately activated in all countries in the world where Enel has employees.

Among the companies that take the field to protect their employees there is also Fs Italiane which has taken out insurance coverage for its workers in case of hospitalization due to infection with Coronavirus COVID-19.

The insurance coverage is managed by UniSalute and will last for one year. The aim is to provide group employees with a daily allowance in the event of hospitalization due to COVID-19, a flat-rate per diem in the event of hospitalization in intensive care due to COVID-19 and a package of assistance services, including health information, telephone medical consultations and reservations for health services.
