Too big, too dispersed, with a lot of Chinese companies but also with a large-scale return of producers from all over the world after the disappointing and reduced post-Covid editions, CES is once again that gigantic and chaotic event that we know so well. Here is a first roundup of news, taking into account that only in the next few months, based on the unquestionable judgment of the large distribution chains, will we see which products will be rejected and which will not go into production and which, instead, will be put on sale .
Curved, transparent, disappearing
For years and years, LG, Samsung, Hisense, Sharp have been presenting TVs with curved displays at the Las Vegas convention center. Which cost too much and remain in the professional sector. But it is LG, manufacturer of Oled, which has developed, convincing even the most critical experts, Oled Signature T, transparent and tactile displays, demonstrating how it is above all hotels and shops that can use this technology - such as TVs, windows and shop windows - to make the relationship between users, products and services is immediate and engaging. “Imagine a large transparent display on the counter used for ordering” – commented Robert Peterson, AVP North America, Oracle Food & Beverage – If both sides of the display were touch-enabled, the cashier and/or guest could interact with the kiosk”. It lacks - admittedly - Micro Lens Array technology for optimal brightness, but the 77-inch display is extraordinarily sharp with dazzling deep effects.
Samsung has also revived its transparent TVs with proprietary MicroLed technology, but still seems behind LG in terms of actual sales availability. As for curved displays, a real gem is already available, the Predator Z57, from Acer, the first computer with a 55" curved screen.
Finally innovative soundbars
