Centre-right, ok to the program: the Fornero reform is underway

Silvio Berlusconi, Matteo Salvini and Giorgia Meloni have signed the electoral program that the centre-right will support in view of the general elections on 4 March.

The agreement arrived yesterday evening in the context of a summit held in Palazzo Grazioli with the agenda: the filing and signing of the program and the candidacies in single-member constituencies.

A few hours earlier, the leader of Forza Italia had also met the delegation of the so-called 'fourth leg', made up of Raffaele Fitto and Lorenzo Cesa, who defined the meeting as "not positive", with particular reference to the space in the candidacies for the of their training.

“If a sentence were to arrive from Strasbourg that overturns the Senate's decision, I could not hold back and would go to Palazzo Chigi – declared Silvio Berlusconi to L'aria che tira su La7 -. However, it is unlikely because I know the times in Strasbourg”.

"If I went to Palazzo Chigi - continued the number one of Forza Italia - I think Salvini can choose and he, being a breakthrough center forward, could go to the Ministry of the Interior".

Once the roles have been defined, the response of the EU judges is awaited.

Among the various points within the program, the cancellation of law 214 of 22 December 2011, better known as the Fornero reform with its contributory method and its pensions linked to life expectancy and recalculated every two years, is envisaged. A decision which, according to various official calculations, could cost the state coffers around 100 billion euros from 2018 to 2023.

“The meeting went well and we signed the programme, said Matteo Salvini as he left Palazzo Grazioli.
