Carige: from Consob ok to the increase, the title rips

The Ligurian bank recovers ground on the Stock Exchange after the collapse and suspension of Monday's session – In the afternoon, Consob approved the prospectus: now the capital increase of half a billion can start.

The prospectus relating to Carige's imminent capital increase has received the green light from Consob. This was communicated by the Ligurian bank in a note: the increase, which should start tomorrow, Wednesday 22 November, will be worth 498 million euros to be precise, even if it will have total costs of over 36 million euros, therefore the proceeds generated by the operation will be 463,7 million.

In some documents, the Ligurian bank specifies that, considering this income and that deriving from the sale of the Milan office for 107,5 million, in addition to the impact of the bond conversion operation (-58 million), cash and pro forma liquidity of the institute as at 30 September 2017 would rise to 790 million euro, compared to an official figure of 278 million at the same date, with a liquidity coverage ratio of 152.2% (124.6% historic figure at the end of September).

The stock on the Stock Exchange, which yesterday was suspended due to an excess of 0,09 euro per share, today ended up in a volatility auction for the opposite reason: at midday, after being readmitted to trading, it gained 37% at €0,1259 per share.
