2017 was a record year for Piazza Affari, but 2018 could be no different. Especially in terms of new listed companies. According to the CEO of Borsa Italiana, Raffaele Jerusalmi, the IPOs of the calendar year have just begun there will be 50, even more than the 39 (of which 24 in the AIM Italia circuit) in 2017, vintage to be considered very rich.
Who could therefore land in Piazza Affari, which today it weighs for 37,8% of the GDP with its 644 billion of capitalization? The most prestigious name concerns the fashion and luxury sector and is that of Valentino, a maison that has always been linked to Made in Italy but is now owned by the mother of the Emir of Qatar. Then, still in the same area, we talk about Furla, which has recently entered Gianni Tamburi's radar, while on a completely different front, another very important brand is that of Ntv, or rather Italian trains, which could therefore burn those of Ferrovie dello Stato in time, the listing of which should only be completed in 2019 also because it does not seem to be in the priorities of CEO Mazzoncini.
There are also expectations for Magneti Marelli, Octo Telematics, De Cecco pasta and Sia, the technology services company dedicated to finance, banking and public administration. And also for bigger names, such as that of the Italian-Chinese Ansaldo Energia or more national-popular ones, such as that of the well-known Italian food chain Eataly, founded by Farinetti and now led by Andrea Guerra, which however could be postponed to next year .
