Maid and carer bonus 2020: how to apply? The instructions

From Monday 25 May you can apply to receive the maid and carer bonus 2020 provided for by the relaunch decree to help domestic workers struggling with the economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus emergency.

BONUS HOUSEKEEPER AND CARERS 2020: WHO IS IT FOR

The decree approved a few weeks ago acknowledges to domestic workers an allowance of 500 euros per month in April and May 2020. However, the benefit will be paid in a lump sum of 1.000 euros. 

However, there are conditions: the bonus is intended for cleaners and carers who, as of 23 February 2020, had one or more work contracts for a total duration of more than 10 hours per week. Not only that, to receive the bonus, applicants do not have to live with the employer.

It should be emphasized that the indemnity cannot be combined with other benefits related to the Covid-19 pandemic established by Cura Italia decree o by the relaunch decree. The bonus will therefore not be combined with the emergency income (provided for by the relaunch decree), while those who benefit from a pension or basic income will only be able to receive it as a form of integration within a maximum limit of 500 euros. Taking a practical example, if you receive 200 euros of basic income, the amount of the bonus can go up to 300 euros. 

The cleaners and carers bonus will not be cumulative with the pension, while it will be cumulative with the ordinary disability allowances. Finally, the applicant must not be the holder of another type of permanent employee job, except for an intermittent job. 

BONUS CLEANERS AND CARERS 2020: HOW TO APPLY

Anyone who meets the required requirements will be able to apply to receive the 2020 bonus there are three ways of presentation:

• through INPS site;
• through the Contact Center;
• through sponsorships.

When completing the application, the IBAN code in the name of the applicant must be provided, which will allow INPS to credit the bonus. Alternatively, you can request to receive a bank transfer with collection of the sum at a post office. 

If the applicant does not reside in Italy, he must notify INPS of his Italian domicile.

After completing and sending the application, INPS will issue a receipt containing an identification number (the protocol number will be sent later). 

When the request has been registered, those who have requested the bonus will receive a notification that will warn them of the presence of the complete receipt in the "Consultation of the application and payments" section of the INPS website. On the same site, it will be possible to check the processing status of the application.
