The former prime minister crowns Stefano Parisi: "He will have to reorganize Forza Italia and renew the presence of moderates in politics" - "We need a new proposal open to civil society".

Berlusconi chooses Parisi for the relaunch of Forza Italia: will he be the leader?

The renewal of Forza Italy goes through Stefano Parisi. A mandate that arrives, and it could not be otherwise, directly from the hands of Silvio Berlusconi, which entrusted the former CEO of Fastweb with the task of working "for the relaunch and renewal of the presence of moderates in politics", as stated in the note released by the former prime minister's secretariat.

The renewal of Forza Italia, continues the note, has the aim of "regrouping and bringing to the vote the many Italians who no longer have faith in the current policy but feel a profound and urgent need for renewal in the management of the country" and carry forward "a new and credible proposal open to civil society".

An official investiture, therefore, which certifies the very rapid political rise of Parisi, candidate for mayor of Milan narrowly defeated by beppe room, after having managed to shorten a gap that seemed enormous during the electoral campaign. An ascent that has made some party colonels turn up their noses, 5 days after the summit with Berlusconi, but which has found the support of Fedele Confalonieri and the entire Berlusconi family. Berlusconi and Parisi, for now, have decided not to choose the appointment as coordinator of Forza Italia but a softer approach, as an external collaborator.

Parisi will not have the role of coordinator of Forza Italia and will act as an external consultant, at least until a renewed, or completely new, container has taken shape. But in all likelihood, he'll be next premier candidate of the centre-right.
