Change takes place at the top of Banca Ifis. In agreement with the controlling shareholder, represented by Sebastien Egon Furstenberg's holding company "La Scogliera", Luciano Colombini will step down as CEO at the spring meeting and will pass the baton to Frederik Geeertman, a XNUMX-year-old Dutch engineer and until now the Deputy General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer of Ubi. Geertman will thus become the new CEO of the Bank. Pushing the accelerator on digitization will be his mission.
This was announced by Banca Ifis, which thus explains the changing of the guard: "The epidemiological emergency from Covid-19 has made it necessary a strong acceleration of the development and digitization process of the Bank through the identification of a manager in possession of the necessary skills and who will also be required to develop synergies between the various business lines of the Bank, which have further expanded recently”. For this reason, engineer Geertman, an MBA at Insead and with managerial experience at Unicredit before joining Ubi, was identified as the man of the new course. The decision will be formalized at a board meeting in February, on the occasion of which Geertman will enter the board for poi become CEO in the budget meeting next April.
Colombini resigns by mutual consent from his position as CEO but will maintain his current role until April e will remain in the group's subsidiaries until April 2022.
