Amazon is worth more than 800 billion, it is the 2nd company in the world

Amazon sets records on Wall Street. The global e-commerce giant first reached and then exceeded $800 billion in market capitalization, becoming the second American company after Apple to have reached such a milestone.

The stock market ride made by Amazon in the last year appears almost unstoppable. Looking at just the last eight days, the market capitalization has risen by 34 billion. However, extending the reference time horizon, the percentages are impressive: +41% since the beginning of the year which becomes +64% in the last 12 months. Since January, Amazon's market value has risen by $100 billion.

To understand the scope of the enterprise, just think that within a few months the e-commerce giant managed to catch and overtake companies of the caliber of Microsoft and Google, targeting Apple, whose value is currently equal to 943,3 .142 billion dollars. So now it's an open challenge in the Nasdaq to see who will be the first company in the world to have a capitalization of a trillion dollars. At the moment, however, even if 41 kilometers away from Cupertino, Amazon seems to be going twice as fast. As mentioned, since the beginning of the year the increase is equal to 23% against XNUMX% for Apple.

Helping Amazon in its run today are SunTrust analysts Robinson Humphrey, who have raised its price target to $2.000. Right now, Amazon is traded for $1.650 (+0,6%), reaching $801,6 billion.
